Prospective is everything. What filter do you see life through? Is the filter bright, colorful, full of possibility and wonder? Is it clouded by disappointment and pain?
It’s so easy to go, day in and day out, giving voice to what you don’t want, but a good friend just reminded me that the commitment to the confession of the negative becomes a prayer, and causes the very thing you don’t desire to chase you down with a relentless fervor.
Much of the attainment of the various successes and relationships we desire are dependent on our ability and willingness to focus on the good in people and situations, giving voice to the desire to have positive attributes of things and relationships in our lives. This may require a renewed mind and an intentional effort to take responsibility to make this change in speech until our heart catches up. It’s not easy at times, and requires practice. I’m committed to making the shift. How about you?
